Practicum

At DSLAB, we offer students the opportunity to undertake professional internships in the field of Data Science.

Through our practicum opportunities, students become active participants in real-world research projects led by DSLAB. This initiative is designed for students from diverse domains who are eager to develop practical skills in data analysis, machine learning and scientific programming.

Interns gain hands-on experience in applied research and technical development within data science, with tasks and projects including:

  • Data collection and management: Building and maintaining data repositories from heterogeneous sources.
  • Predictive modeling and Machine Learning: Designing models to extract insights and forecast outcomes.
  • Cloud computing for data science: Developing scalable solutions using cloud-based technologies.
  • Research applications: Applying data science to challenges in health, environment, and social sciences.
  • Scientific communication: Preparing reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings effectively.

Interns are mentored by experienced researchers and contribute directly to DSLAB's ongoing research initiatives. Whether you aim to enhance your academic path, explore new professional directions, or simply immerse yourself in real data-driven projects, the DSLAB Practicum offers a unique environment to grow your skills and experience.
